The Satellite Freshwater LED Lighting System is engineered to intensify the brilliant colors of your freshwater fish, while enhancing the overall appearance of their aquatic environment. This state-of-the-art fixture employs 48 super-bright 6,500K white and 18 rich 445nm blue LEDs to deliver crisp light and breathtaking shimmer. Housed in an ultra-low profile aluminum shell with built-in splash guard, the LED Satellite is designed for safe operation in moist environments. To ensure a perfect fit, it features sliding mounting legs. These extendable legs allow quick and easy adjustment, enabling this versatile fixture to fit aquariums 18" to 24" in size.

The Satellite Freshwater LED Lighting System features a wired remote that enables users to independently control the blue and white LEDs, adjust brightness levels, and activate the 7 pre-programmed dynamic lighting modes. Each unique effect is designed to simulate real-world aquatic conditions to add realism, excitement, and intrigue to your aquarium. Includes modes that dim periodically to create cloud cover effects, storm modes with awe-inspiring lightning strikes, and evening modes that simulate dusk and lunar light conditions.

Dynamic Lighting Modes:

Mode 1 - Standard - Both blue and white lights on, intensities can be adjusted by pressing the white or blue button
Mode 2 - Moonlight - only blue light on, brightness can be adjusted by pressing the blue button
Mode 3 - Cloud Cover 1 - blue and white lights gently fade in and out
Mode 4 - Cloud Cover 2 - a higher intensity cloud cover/fade
Mode 5 - Cloud Cover 3 - high intensity, slow-rolling fade effect

Can you use this light over a glass cover?
          Asked on 5/22/2014 by Dan

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

It is recommended that you have a glass cover when using most lights. The Current USA Satellite series will need a glass cover as water will damage the unit.

        • Q:

Will these lights light up a non planted tank that is 28" deep? I am considering getting 2 36" to span a 6ft tank. Or would the Current LED Plus be a better option. They will mainly just be used to view the fish in the evenings.

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

No, you are better off with the Current LED Plus as being a much better option but it may still be a dim for you liking as I`m presuming it would used for a very large aquarium based on the length and height you are providing.

I have a 20g tank and wanted to upgrade to live plants. What fixtures do you recommend for plants beyond your average java moss and java fern?

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

The aquatic life 2 x 24W linkable freshwater 24" fixture would be great for your size of aquarium and will be able to grow more light demanding plants.

        • Q:

How many watts per say does this light have/put out? Like how would I figure watts per gallon with this light??
          Asked on 7/20/2013 by Bozo

          1 answer

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

LEDs are different and do not follow the Watts per Gallon rule. You would need to know the height of your aquarium and the types of plants you wish to keep to see if this light will work.

Would this work on a 29g tank with all live plants?

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

It would work but it wouldn't be sufficient for plants to thrive unless all the plants or low light plants.

No, this product can not be submerged at all. It is meant to be placed above your aquarium as it is meant to light your aquarium.
